A photo platform was challenging how it could support its users in identifying motifs from the abundance of their pictures that have a high and long-term emotional value for them, resulting in "the thousand photos of your life".
The 8-week-process consisted of these stepts: putting together an interdisciplinary team of 6 people including the CEO of the photo platform creating a trustworthy working relationship (establishing communication rules, getting familiar with technical tools for working together, organising social events) learning and applying the design thinking methodology and design sprints in altogether 3 coaching-blocks conducting interviews, building and testing prototypes, iterating the prototypes conducting a final workshop together with the stakeholders of the photo platform to discuss the prototype and work on the next steps for implementing the solution presented by the HOLA-team.
The HOLA-team suggested a new product. With the help of physically sending a "photo letter" to others the special value of the picked photos comes to light. The photo letter is thus an emotional product while at the same time having the potential to lead to "the thousand photos of your life".
